Kudukathupara is an eco-tourism project devloped by the Kerala Forest Department. It’s a structure of three rocks, located at Alayamon Panchayat of Kollam District. The highest rock is 840 metre above sea level, which looks as very steep.

No one has climbed that rock till now. The maximum height that tourist can climb is upto 780 metres. It’s a very good trekking destination in Kollam district. We’ll get few breathtaking view points from there.

From the top of the rock, 4 districts of Kerala and few parts of TamilNadu are visible. Jatayu rock is well visible from here. Few parts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alapuzha, and Pathanamthitta are visible if the sky is clearer.

It’s opened on everyday from 9AM to 4PM. Please be sure to reach the place before 4PM as you need atleast 2 hours to enjoy the scenic beauty. The best season to visit the place is during rainy season as we can see fog during that time. Always remember to carry a pair of good shoes if you’re there at rainy seson as the rocks will have slipping tendency.
If you’re from Kollam, the route is like Kollam – Anchal – Channapetta – Kudukuthupara.
Enjoy your trip 🙂
